Once upon a time
a palm
held a dream
so tight and fast
that it choked
and screamed
Once upon a time
a beautiful dream
set dynamite
to a palm
and escaped
in splinters
of bone, blood and pain
Once upon a time
a palm
held a dream
that she knew
was just a dream
A rainbow-dream
that would burst
when the eye
opened into
the dark, dreary night
Once when stars shimmered
inside frozen lakes
and feather-snow
touched a cheek
in a cold caress
Once
when a frozen lake
held stars captive
for many moments
One moment
murmured
“friend”
But they escaped…
The moment,
The murmur,
The word,
The dream,
..
in splinters
of bone, blood and pain
